MANIC PIXIE DREAM MIC

Co-created and hosted Manic Pixie Dream Mic, a Brooklyn-based comedy open mic that grew into a major platform for emerging and established comedians alike. Performing regularly and opening for A-list talent, I helped cultivate a space that challenged traditional comedy archetypes—particularly the “Manic Pixie Dream Girl” (a term coined to describe a one-dimensional female character existing only to serve a man’s narrative). By recontextualizing the term, the mic became a site of subversion, amplifying voices that refused to exist solely in service of someone else’s story. We sold out shows at venues ranging from Starr Bar to Alan Cumming’s Club Cumming.
